Where There Is Shadow, Light
Coloring the St. Francis Prayer
A prayer for peace, one line at a time.

About the book
What is inside
This book walks through the St. Francis Prayer one line at a time. Each page sets a line in large, outlined, Victorian-style capitals made to be colored, and surrounds it with something living: a dove at the water's edge, a nest of chicks, clasped hands in Celtic knotwork, an open book, a cross radiating light.
The pairings are the heart of it: hatred and love, wrong and forgiveness, discord and harmony, error and truth, doubt and faith. Frames of vines, ferns, roses, oak leaves and acorns hold each page like an illuminated manuscript, with open space inside for your own colors.
It is dedicated to the anonymous friends who help us in our time of need and let us help in theirs.
A line of the prayer on every page
Large outlined lettering, with the key words, hatred, discord, error and doubt, set big enough to color with care.
Symbols you can read
A dove, a nest, clasped hands, an open book and a radiant cross each match the line beside them.
Botanical frames
Vines, ferns, roses, oak leaves and acorns frame each page in the spirit of an illuminated manuscript.
Night pages between
Dark, quiet pages with soft doves and butterflies sit between the coloring pages.
From the pages
That where there is doubt, I may bring faith.
That where there is discord, I may bring harmony.
That where there is error, I may bring truth.
Lord, make me a channel of thy peace.
